Product details

304 Stainless Steel Expanded Metal Mesh is a versatile and widely used material made from 304 stainless steel sheets through a process of simultaneous slitting and stretching. Commonly used for filtration, ventilation, walkways, and protective enclosures, it offers excellent strength, corrosion resistance, and airflow. Stainless Steel Expanded Metal Mesh is widely applied in architectural facades, industrial platforms, machine guards, and screening systems across construction, chemical, and food processing industries.

Features

Excellent Corrosion Resistance: 304 offers strong resistance to rust and corrosion from a wide range of environmental exposures, chemicals, and organic materials. This makes it suitable for most industrial and architectural applications.

High-Temperature Performance: It maintains its strength and oxidation resistance at high temperatures, with a service temperature range from -50°C to over 800°C.

Cost-Effectiveness: Being the most common and widely produced stainless steel, 304 typically provides the best balance of performance and cost compared to other specialty grades like 316.

Comparison with 316 Stainless Steels

Lower Price. 304 is more economical than 316. The addition of molybdenum in 316 increases its cost, but

304 has Lower Resistance to Chlorides. 316 stainless steel contains 2-3% Molybdenum. This key addition dramatically improves 316's resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion, particularly from chlorides and saltwater. Therefore, in marine environments or applications involving strong chemicals, 316 (often called "marine-grade" or "surgical-grade") is the superior and more durable choice

In commonly, 304 still the fist choose for many projects.

Applications

Architecture: Building cladding, sunscreens, ceiling panels, and modern facades

Industry: Filtration sheets, screening panels, battery mesh, machine guards, and ventilation covers

Infrastructure: Anti-slip walkways, stair treads, catwalks, and security fencing

Food and chemical sectors: Filters, strainers, and protective screens in high-hygiene environments

Its strength, ventilation, and anti-corrosive properties make it an ideal alternative to perforated sheets or welded mesh.
